Santa’s Workshop will be held soon! Setup will be Tuesday, November 29th. The students will shop on Wednesday, November 30th and Thursday, December 1st. Friday, December 2nd will be a make-up shopping day and tear down/clean up. If you would like to help, please contact Tammy Geibel at This is a great event – takes lots of volunteers, but it is so worth it to see the students having fun shopping for their loved ones.

Popcorn orders can be picked up on Thursday, November 17th from 5-6:30pm in the hallway by the elementary lobby. Thank you to all that sold and bought popcorn! We will post the total sales, profit, and top sellers soon!

Fundraising time! By popular request, we are again selling gourmet popcorn from Pittsburgh Popcorn Company! The beauty of this fundraiser – they give back 50% of all sales to the organization! It is RARE to find a fundraiser that gives that kind of % back. Last year we sold over 1600 bags of popcorn for a profit of $4800! Let’s surpass that this year!

Popcorn sales will start on October 7th and end on October 24th. Pickup for the popcorn will be within 1-2 weeks after the sale ends. We will let you know the exact date later!

Fundraising enables each grade level to go on a field trip at no cost to them or the school. It also guarantees that CP PTO can continue to have Santa’s Workshop as well as sponsor other programs and assemblies.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer! As a parent myself, I know how valuable your time is, so I am going to try and break down all the important information that you need to know about the CP PTO in the least amount of words as possible!

Less words=families actually taking a few minutes to read this letter!

Meetings take place the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the teacher’s lounge (across from the cafeteria). Again, your time is valuable so we would like to keep the meetings to 30-45 MINUTES MAX if possible. ALL ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED!!

Who can be a member? Parents, guardians, grandparents!

How do I become a member? Fill out the member form and return

Volunteering at school events you must have clearances (Child Abuse and Criminal check) and be a CP PTO member.

Why become a member? Because our children are important!

Can’t attend meetings?? That’s okay, we will get the info of every meeting to you!

How much? We have no membership fee!

Want to be a member, but really can’t make it to the meetings? That’s okay just let us know and we will get the meeting info to you! Yes, you can still be an involved member! Be sure to check out the CP PTO Facebook page to stay up to date on upcoming events and school info!

So what does the CP PTO really do?

CP PTO supports families, teachers and staff and most importantly our students. We bring our families together to form a community in which we can all be proud of! We do this by providing money for field trips and educational adventures.

Come to the meetings, get involved in our school, our community, and most importantly, our children!

Generously portioned, resealable bags of this great product range from only $5 – $7 per bag, so they’re priced great, they taste amazing, and they make great gifts (Christmas is coming faster than we’re ready to admit!). With a 50% profit on each bag, your help and encouragement puts us well on the way to continuing to fund the wonderful field trips your child/children enjoy so much, as well as many other activities, events (Santa’s Workshop!), and other plans that benefit and support both the students and their school community. Please help us continue to enrich students lives in as many ways as possible, because these memories will stay with your child/children for years to come.

Hello Parents,

I hope you had an amazing summer with your children and that you never took a minute for granted. Let me take a quick moment to introduce myself. I am the new President of the Commodore Perry PTO. This is my first year in the seat, last year I was VP. I have one child going into the second grade and my youngest will be ready to attend next year. So, I will be here for a while, if you will have me.

I am very proud to be a part of this school as well as this organization. There is so much that we do for our children and the list of what we want to do is endless!! We would love for you to be a part of it. We hope to make some changes this year and of course, we will not be able to do any of it without your help. That means we need some of your time and we need some of your ideas. We do have a few things in the works that will help us raise the money we need to send our children on fun and fantastic field trips, rewards, surprises, events and thank yous for our amazing teachers. Many of these require very little fundraising. This may blow your mind, but even “PTO MOMS” hate fundraising! However, in a rural area like ours, it is important that we go above and beyond to give our children experiences that will help them grow, help them see what else there is. We don’t have the resources to do that the way larger schools do. Our children are in a wonderful district, where teachers go above and beyond for them, but education is not limited to PSSA scores. We want our children to be excited about school. We want them, not only to make good grades, but make great memories. That’s where we come in.

Attached you will find our budget for this coming year. This is the list of things that PTO does each and every year, we would like to add to this list. Please join us Tuesday, September 1st at 6 p.m. In the elementary library. Refreshments will be provided. We are ready to hear all of your thoughts and we can’t wait to have you hear our plans for the future.
